This is a Happy Birthday/Halloween card, hence the black cat on a platter. I made this card for my brother-in-law. Today is his birthday. I love this stamp set, but I am sorry to say that it is retired. The cat is from another retired set. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) that I used to execute this technique is from Howlstooth & Scaringbone.
You know, I love sharing my projects with you all. I just have one major problem. I never know what to say.
I love the bright colors in this DSP. I CASE so many cards, that I can't remember if this is an original or not. LOL That is sad, I know.
I am having fun trying out all these new and not so new techniques. I will have a wonderful collection of cards to share with my friends, family and customers when I am finished with my Technique Book.
I am in love with this card. When I saw Mary Alice Bellis's card over on Stampin' Connection, I knew I was going to CASE it. I changed a few things on my card....I used different DSP and images. The faux diamond dust technique is only on a small part of this card, but I think it is enough.
Thanks so much for buzzz'n by the Hive.
Until next time....Buzzz you later,
Honeybee
CASE (Copy And Share Everything). That is what I did for todays project. This idea came from Kathy Baffone and her Inky Blossom card on Stampin' Connection (a website for Stampin' Up! demonstrators). I love the soft feel to this card. I wanted the technique to stand out without being in your face.
The last photo is the same technique in different colors. I think I like the bold and brighter colors better.
Today I am sharing two cards made using the same technique. I stamped the flower image from Elements of Style in Midnight Muse on Whisper White card stock. I stamped the bird onto the acetate using Black StazOn ink. This technique requires the use of Crystal Effects and re-inkers. You have to be careful of the colors you choose and their placement. As you can see in my second card the colors were a little too dark.
Buzzz by on Wednesday and I will have another wonderful technique card for you to see.
Today I am showcasing one of the ways to do the technique called Faux Tile. I used Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla card stock. The ribbon that I used is retired. The stamp set that was used is called My Friend. I am not too good with empty space on my cards. I always want to add something there. Every time I look at this card, I think I should have added some pearls, rhinestones or brads to the bottom right of the card.
Guess What! I came up with these cards all on my own. I did not CASE anyone for today's share. I am so proud of myself. I am satisfied with the outcome. The technique being showcased here is Crystal Effects. I put crystal effects on all the hearts in the images from Happy You stamp set. I used Gumball Green, Blushing Bride (retired), Pool Party, Midnight Muse, and Whisper White card stock. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners.
Today I want to wish a GREAT BIG OLE HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best dad in the world. Yesterday he turned wiser years old. I love my dad to pieces. He is truly the Best.
Here is the card I made for him. Yes, this is a CASEd card. I had to....it is so Gorjus! Thanks to Bernadette Bliss for such a wonderful card. I used Basic Black card stock for the base. Lucky Limeade and Whisper White are the other card stock that I used. The DSP is from International Bazaar. I used Circle Circus, Build a Blossom, and Perfectly Penned stamp sets. The faux metal button was embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and then stamped with an image from Build a Blossom on one card and the other uses an image from Circle Circus. I also used the Apothecary Accents Framelits and the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack. I enjoyed working on this technique. It is perfect for masculine cards.
I am putting together a technique book and I have decided to try out some new techniques. I tried 2 new techniques for today's card: Faux Patina and Round Easel Card. I love the way it turned out. I CASEd the layout from a fellow stamper. Are you surprised? LOL I used Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, and Marina Mist card stock. The stamp set that I used is called Punch Potpourri (retired, sorry). The opened card was embossed with Copper embossing powder (non-SU) and the bottom one used SU! Gold Embossing Powder. That is the only difference in the two. I like the gold one better. Which do you like?
Today I am sharing a 3-D project. It is a small box made with the Scallop Square Bigz Clear Die. I put a punch from the Little Labels Punch Pack in the box so that you could get a better feel for the size of the box. I decorated this cute box with flowers made using the Scallop Circle and Oval punches. I added some Shimmer Paint and the sentiment to complete the project.
I have been doing a lot of creating in the Hive. Before I show you what I have been creating, I thought I would give you a tour of the Hive. I have a few photos of my space before I started renovating. Here they are:
My side desk was a fold up table I took from our garage that we used for cookouts.
My main desk was a fold up table from an office supply store. Not too bad....just very small and crowded.
This is how I had to store my punches and stamps...I had nowhere else to put them.
My oldest son helped me to start re-organizing and painting.
After a couple of trips to Ikea and other local craft stores....I finally got the Stamping Hive to a place I can call my own....
.......Here's my very first video of the new and organized Hive...
I made these cute little box/bags to put the Day of Gratitude cards in. There are 5 cards with envelopes in each bag. Lots more could fit, however. I made the bag using one sheet of 12 x 12 card stock. I decorated it with More Mustard cut out with the Oval Accent Bigz Clear die and embossed with the Houndstooth Impressions Folder. To keep the bag closed I used the Decorative Label punch with Tangerine Tango card stock and an Antique Brad with a velcro dot. The leaves and sentiment both come from the Day of Gratitude stamp set. Sorry, the Tangerine Tango ribbon is retired. I enjoyed making this project from start to finish.
I want to thank you for buzzzing by the Hive. I really appreciate all of your kind comments.
This is the 5th and final card that I made for my DH and the ladies at the Retirement Home. This card design was CASED from Holly Gould. I made two cards with a few adjustments to the second one. I used a lighter shade of green and a darker color for the sentiment. I also added some paper piercing.
Pumpkin Pie Base 8.5 x 5.5
Cajun Craze 2.25 x 5.5 (emboss)
Soft Suede 3.75 x 3.75
Very Vanilla 3.5 x 3.5
About 6" of ribbon
Inks: Always Artichoke/Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip/Early Espresso
